GP online services allow you to access a range of services via your computer, mobile or tablet. Once you have signed up, you will be able to:

• book or cancel appointments online
• renew or order repeat prescriptions online
• view parts of your GP record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results

You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time. More information including “how to” leaflets and videos of patients and why they are using GP online services are available at www.nhs.uk/gponlineservices

How to sign-up

For more information, please contact reception or next time you visit the surgery, bring with you a piece of photo ID (passport, driving licence) and something with your address on like a bank statement but not a gas or electric bill. If you don’t have these, please talk to us and we will help you sign-up

NHS App and your NHS account 

The NHS App enables people to:

• get health advice using the health A-Z on the NHS website
• find out what to do when they need help urgently using NHS 111 online
• register as an organ donor
• choose whether the NHS uses their data for research and planning

Patients can register and prove who they are so they can:

• order their repeat prescriptions and view, set or change their nominated pharmacy, where they want their prescriptions to be sent
• view their GP health record securely
• manage their first hospital or clinic appointment with a specialist, when they are referred by their GP, through the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS)

“Regarding Online Access to medical records: We understand that some of our patients may have encountered difficulties viewing certain documents (e.g. letters from the hospital) due to a software problem. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are pleased to inform you that this issue has been resolved for new documents being added onto the system. It may take up to a little while for older documents to become visible. Unfortunately this is a national issue that we have no control over and our software providers are working hard to resolve.

Your GP team will have been able to access the letters so your care will not have been affected during this time.”
